WALLACE PURCHASES THE WORLD’S MOST SOPHISTICATED RF-ID LABEL EQUIPMENT

Wallace (NYSE: WCS) has placed an order for the first of the latest generation of Melzer Smart Label production lines to be used in North America. Melzer Smart Card and Label Equipment is distributed exclusively by Innovative Equipment, Ltd. in the United States.

According to Don Nauheimer, Wallace’s Design Engineering Manager, “This advanced Melzer technology will allow us to support the continued rapid demand for Smart Labels. This product line augments our EAS security tag capabilities as Wallace is a licensed manufacturer of Sensormatic tags. It will also guarantee the highest readability rates as well as maximum productivity in the marketplace.”

The Melzer Smart Label Equipment not only applies the transponder at high speeds, it tests the integrity of the transponder inlay before application and once again at the delivery end. All this quality production, up to four wide and delivered in either rolls or sheets. Most competitive equipment applies the transponder and does not offer the advanced read and verification process that Melzer has built into their production lines.

After the Smart Labels are manufactured, Wallace images and adds digital information to the labels. Wallace provides its customers with a complete turnkey solution as needed.

Melzer also manufactures the world’s only fully automatic Contactless Smart Card Production equipment.

The Melzer Smart Label manufacturing equipment will be shown at LABEL EXPO USA, Chicago, September 11 - 14, 2006, Booth 6434.
